  • Awards
    Documents personal Community Service hours performed outside of Unit scheduled opportunities.

    Request to receive a Musician Ribbon Award (solo, group, choir, band, choir, etc).

    Used to nominate a Young Marine / Staff Member / Parent of the Quarter to the Unit Commander.

    Document to attach to supporting documentation to request a ribbon award.

    Request to receive a Sportsmanship Ribbon Award.

  • Billet Descriptions

    Headquarters Staff

    Unit Commander (UC) –
    Elected Staff.  The Unit Commander is responsible for everything the unit does or fails to do.

    Executive Officer (XO) –
    Elected Staff.  The Executive Officer is second in command and supervises all administrative tasks within the unit.

    Platoon Leader (PL) –
    Unit Staff.  The Platoon Leaders are fourth, fifth, and sixth in command and supervise their respective platoons to report information back to the Headquarters team.

    Paymaster (PM) 
    Unit Staff.  The Paymaster leads the financial team and is the adviser to all things related to unit finances.

    Comm Officer (ComO) 
    Unit Staff.  The Communications Officer leads the Communications team and is the adviser to all things communications.

    Parent Staff Adviser (PSA) 
    Unit Staff.  The Parent Staff Adviser coordinates the Parent’s Group and is the adviser for Parent/Staff communications.


    Administrative Team Staff

    Adjutant (Adj) – 
    Unit Staff.  The Adjutant is second in command of the Administration Team.  They handle the unit’s paperwork and is the primary contact for edits to our database.

    Personnel Officer (PersO) – 
    Unit Staff.  The Personnel Officer is third in command of the Administration Team.  They handle individual’s paperwork and is the primary contact for edits to our personnel files.

    Medical Officer (MO) – 
    Unit Staff.  The Medical Officer manages the unit medical records and coordinates Activity Medical Officers for all events.

    Female Staff Adviser (FSA) – 
    Unit Staff.  The Female Staff Adviser advises the Unit Headquarters Staff on the interests and unique needs of the female Young Marines.

    Unit First Sergeant (1stSgt) 
    Young Marine.  The Unit First Sergeant is the Administrative lead for the Young Marines.


    Operations and Logistics Team Staff

    Training Officer (TO) –
    Unit Staff.  The Training Officer is second in command of the Operations and Logistics Team and is tasked with ensuring unit training obligations take place and create the weekly training schedules.

    Supply Officer (SupO) 
    Unit Staff.  The Supply Officer manages the supply room and other storage mediums to ensure gear requirements are met for all unit functions.

    Drill Team Officer (DTO) –
    Support Staff.  The Drill Team Officer manages the training and deployment of the Unit Drill Team.

    Color Guard Officer (CGO) –
    Support Staff.  The Color Guard Officer manages the training and deployment of the Unit Color Guard.

    Lead Recruit Instructor (LRI) 
    Support Staff.  The Lead Recruit Instructor serves as the Platoon Leader for the recruit platoon and manages the Young Marine Recruit Instructors and Assistant Young Marine Recruit Instructors.

    Unit Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt) 
    Young Marine.  The Unit First Sergeant is the Operations/Logistics lead for the Young Marines.


    Platoon Billets

    Platoon Sergeant (PltSgt) –
    Young Marine.  The Platoon Sergeant is the senior Young Marine in the Platoon.  They report to the Platoon Leader.

    Platoon Guide (PltGde) –
    Young Marine.  The Platoon Guide is the second senior Young Marine in the Platoon.  They report to the Platoon Sergeant, carry the Platoon guidon, and handle logistical needs of the Platoon.

    Squad Leader (SL) 
    Young Marine.  The Squad Leader is the senior member of the squad.  They report to the Platoon Sergeant.

    Assistant Squad Leader (ASL) 
    Young Marine.  The Assistant Squad Leader is the second senior member of the squad.  They report to the Squad Leader.

    Team Leader (TL) 
    Young Marine.  The Team leader is the senior member of the team.  They report to the Squad Leader.

    Team Member (TM) 
    Young Marine.  The Team Member is the role held by Basic Young Marines not holding a higher billet.


    Finance Team Staff

    Finance Officer (FinO) – 
    Support Staff.  Aids in creating and maintaining a unit budget as well as maintain Young Marine Accounts.

    Fundraising Coordinator (FC) – 
    Support Staff.  Sets up fundraising events and manages efforts regarding sales to raise money for unit activities.

    Grant Officer (GO) – 
    Support Staff.  Seeks out Corporate Sponsorship, locates opportunities for grants, applies for grants, and ensures unit fulfills requirements to our sponsors/grant givers.


    Communications Team Staff

    Public Affairs Officer (PAO) – 
    Support Staff.  Ensures unit is exposed to the local community in a positive light.

    Recruitment Officer (RecO) – 
    Support Staff.  Handles the recruitment of potential Young Marines and Staff.

    Unit Journalist (UJ) – 
    Young Marine B-Billet.  Writes news articles and aids in unit website and other social media.

    Unit Photographer (UP)– 
    Young Marine B-Billet.  Brings a camera to all unit functions and takes photos and video of the attendees and events.

    Unit Chaplain (Chap)– 
    Young Marine B-Billet.  Conducts prayers and services for Young Marine functions and activities.

  • Promotions

    Progress Report (Coach or Instructor) – This evaluation tool is utilized when reviewing a Young Marine for Rank promotion or Young Marine of the Quarter/Year.  Helps to determine if the Young Marine is living to expectation outside of drill.



    Progress Report (Parent(s) or Guardian) – This evaluation tool is utilized when reviewing a Young Marine for Rank promotion or Young Marine of the Quarter/Year.  Helps to determine if the Young Marine is living to expectation outside of drill.

    Promotion Request – Young Marines may use this form to request rank promotion and determine if they meet criteria to receive one.


  • Parent Meetings

    Event Permission Slip – A blank version of our unit’s permission slip that can be used for any unit event.



    Knife Waiver – Must be completed annually before a Young Marine can carry or use a pocket knife during encampments.
